there is a lever next to the video port you need to switch
- rafalski0
easy on the lever, it's not covered by apple care.
what software are you using for ftp btw? it looks like permissions on server level though.when in doubt, always perform the "repair permissions" voodoo on the mac
- jharbort0
no software... just good ol' apple+K to connect
hmmm...
damn lever

what are the permissions set to on the FTP box? if they are not exclusively allowing for all considerations, the unix laptop will find issue with that.
also, is the FTP Windows?

i don't believe you can mount an ftp connection as a share without macfuse. permissions wouldn't allow it.
for a nice easy way, either just use an ftp client, or get macfuse and macfusion

and
http://www.sccs.swarthmore.edu/u…mounts an ftp share right on your desktop

not sure about permissions... "mr.knucklehead-ithink-iknow-abo... " guy had one of his buddies set it up without letting anyone know.. including our tech guy..
i'm 99.9% sure the FTP is windows

thanks jpea .. i'll try that

the finder can't upload
you need transmit
- madirish0
actually, the finder can upload, but it is easier w/ an FTP client i agree
