the entire lifestyle is predicated upon the idea that it is unnatural and unhealthy to consume animal products *beyond the age of weaning from the breast milk of the mother* NOT that all animal products are detrimental to one's health, karma, blah blah.
people stupid enough not to even understand the philosophies that they're espousing should perhaps not be procreating, anyway.
vegan or not, these idiots would have ended up either killing their kid some other way or the kid would be genetically so incapacitated with idiocy that she would've eventually eaten rat poison or become president of the united states.

one of my best friends is a vegan, and he's pretty appalled. i don't know many others (i know lots of vegetarians, but vegan is different) but he's not pushy or weird about it at all...it's a private choice he made for his health, which i applaud.
and yes, the child was "malnourished" but not just because he wasn't given enough to eat - it's also because of WHAT he was given when he did get fed.
