you know those books or magazines that go along in one direction and then you get to the middle and it is upside down and you have to flip it 180 degrees and over? and there is a cover on both sides. does anyone have any examples of websites with this sort of duality??? as if 2 things are coming together in one site...

isnt that what spam is, you think its one thing but its really meatspin when you click it.

the concept doesn't have to be so literal (flip the website over)...
I'm just looking for websites that have opposing styles/ideas

this is impossible, leftwave.
people will actually rather click away then lift up and flip over their precious monitors.
i have a feeling this concept will not really take off.

you mean diff styles, divided on screen by some clever device, but maintaining graphical unity?

Is you idea to have some sort of recycled read-path? The redefine a system that the user has become accustomed to? There's plenty of sites that are un- or anti-conventional and plenty of ways to undermine the user. This really only works when it's tied very closely to a a meaning or message. Otherwise people won't like jumping through hoops.
User hostile.

When I was in tokyo last summer, we went to the Apple store and cued up Meatspin on the first mac when you walk in, then we hid behind a latticework fence outside and waited for unsuspecting people to open up that browser and giggle - because they're into that stuff from the looks of some of the stores I was taken to.

Witt, yes, that's exactly what i'm talking about (see, i'm not crazy!)
