It's a new product by microsoft, said to be going head to head with flash. they also said that unlike all the other times, microsoft will have good support for mac. Any opinions?

The demos they have chosen for it over the past few months are terrible.
The only one that doesn't look like a very dated piece of flash is the video mixer and thats not even online.Lets just remember IE5 was available for Windows, Mac, Unix and Solaris.
6 was just for Windows

the one thing i do like is the support for different programming languages...
they have javascript (like actionscript essentially), c# (for the programmers), python and ruby (for me :)
and they say it runs really fast
iono, but i hope it turns out to be a good thing
competition in this space should make adobe start speeding up the flash player

i think it's going to be a complete failure.
Just like their video edting package
odd that their trying to muscle into this market

don't make me laugh. microsoft cannot make anything decent for the graphics industry ever. they are total amateurs.

"they also said that unlike all the other times, microsoft will have good support"
hahaha. that they had to say that doesn't bode well--like the alcholic dad promising his kid he won't miss th eball game again

look at the penetration flash player has. adobe has a good 8-10 year jump on the market, across a good amount of OS' and phones. no way can microsoft ever make that up. maybe things will change in 5-8 years time...

lol - yeah - will def be interesting to see how it pans out, as well as how much adoption it has... i'm sure IE will have the plug-in for it pre-installed, but will blow monkey chunks for gettin into the other browsers....Boo.

wouldnn't expect anything good from microsoft at this stage,
- Not only is he wrong about the iPhone being the most expensive phone ever, he must be lying. He has to know that's wrong.CyBrain

Nobody messes with MS Solitaire and Minesweeper

MS has the server app development products though. Might be a good thing.

MS is always so expensive though, they want per-processor licenses and per-client licenses and all that bullshit. all those middle managers need to get paid.

shit name.

The Flash Media server licenses are expensive too.
