(May 2 07, 16:34)buy refurbs. or import privately from usa (haha)
seriously.. buy from amazon rather than apple store, there are nice rebates and you avoid sales tax (at least in CA)

all of the cohesion that everyone supports limits the fuck out of the machine.

the peripherals do not obstruct my flow.
the connectivity is seamless to anything i want to do.
the color palette and design of their mechanicals are superior.

(May 2 07, 16:01)I recently happily replaced this dumb white keyboard with a black dell one, the only white element of the setup can be (and should be) the iPod :)
I also wish sudden USB device removal didn't often freeze USB port until restart :)

Get Apple to do it and then watch other companies follow suit to keep up with the market. Make conservation part of your marketing.
I remember when I was a kid, people would just let their dog shit on anyone's lawn when they were on a walk and not pick it up. Nowadays, everyone from beverly hills to steven's point, wisconsin picks up their dog's shit when they walk their dog.
I see not much difference in caring about global warming or any ill effects of toxic substances and the environment.

i'm all for corporate environmental responsibility, but i'm also in favor of ethical responsibility, especially from an organization such as greenpeace that postures itself as some type of authority.

(May 2 07, 16:11)i agree completely. apple is a highly publicized company and easy target.

dobs, windows is a ripoff of the MAC OS. And so is Vista again.
Crouwel
(May 2 07, 15:52)sometimes, I mean everyday I wish Apple ripped some of windows usability too. I like my mac at home, but when I come to work on the windows machine in the morning I just can't force myself to hate it :)
room for windows-ripping improvement:
- resizing windows by all corners and edges rather than one fucking corner
- assigning default programs to file extensions rather than particular files (once you save a jpg in mac photoshop, it doesn't open in preview by default anymore wtf)
- mouse wheel in flash
- cut+paste in finder
- mounting video iPod in less than 40 seconds would be nice (it's insane, my windows machine needs only about 4 secs to do that)
- displaying latin extended fonts in browsers properly, ie the CE ones
- and so on..

i'm surprised nobody has read this yet, because i posted it a while ago after seeing all those threads in the pbs. this is more a pr move by apple in response to the baseless claims greenpeace made awhile ago to drum up outrage in the blogosphere. you can read about it here: http://www.roughlydrafted.com/RD…
