Having a problem with microsoft programs because of the amount of fonts loaded up.
I found a quick fix, but am looking for a permanent fix.
Not looking to disable the fonts either.

do you have a font management program that lets you selectively enable fonts?

no, I know this would solve my problem and co-workers here but it seems to be quite a hassle...
plus i know the company isn't going to invest in one. Is linotypes font manager worth downloading?

In that case, download a hookie copy of Suitcase, install it without your technical dep't knowing, then shop your company in to http://www.nopiracy.com .
Cheap bastards.

linotype fontexplorer isn't the best of them, but it's got the best price! i use it on a mac without issue, no experience with the PC version though. i don't think my comp would even boot without it, got too many fonts.

As a quick fix right now, I boot in safe mode. Go into my library and delete the font cache (11) from the microsoft folder. Then I restart. All of the microsoft apps work until I restart my computer or close out of them.
I can't close it and re-open unless go back to step 1.
Pain in the ass.

Trash all your useless fonts, you shouldn't have that many as to make your microsoft shitware crash to begin with
