Disconnecting iTunes

  Hi guys, does anyone know how to disconnect iTunes from being online, I only want to listen to tunes (our IT department are saying that with so many people using iTunes its slowing down our connection?)

  thanks, tho I think that has just taken off the other people who are connected within our network, it hasn't disconnected from the internet, any other ideas?
