Hey guys, I will be going to Japan on April 25th, and while I am Japanese myself, I've been living in Canada for most of my life and have limited contacts there (mostly family - and none my age). Nor do I know what fun things are available for me to do there - (that's not too touristy). I will be in Tokyo and Fukuoka in the Kyushu island.
Anybody living around in those areas? Any ideas you guys can give me, or even up to showing me around?
Thanks guys.

Be sure to eat lots of ramen in Fukuoka, it's their speciality.

Things to do in Japan...
EVERYTHING.
I was there for nearly two weeks last summer, in Tokyo, and had the time of my life.
For starters, every time you see a food stand with a little octopus logo, EAT THERE. Order Tako Yaki, if you've never had it, it's deep fried octopus kind of looks like a donut hole, with spices and other stuff. One of the best things I've ever had and I totally miss it now.

Haha yeah, I know about Takoyaki. 5 years ago, I went with a friend of mine who, the blasphemer he is, did not like it.
Instead of the general "EVERYTHING.", can you list out somethings you did?

Things did:
Namja-town and ice cream city, no idea where in Tokyo it is but Ice Cream City has like every kind of ice cream you could ever eat. Snake, whale, shark, red pepper, asparagus, etc.
Drank absinthe at a british pup and felt like I was super stoned, it was a great night.
I'll think of some more things for your.

yakiniku – originally Korean barbeque, but they took it in Japan and it made it their own. Be sure to hit an isakawa and eat more than you drink. warm white saki. Kobe/Hiroshima Beef. Karaeke (no seriously), if you can afford it, visit an Onsen and get a Traditional massage. Tofu and lots of it. Tokyo sushi is like pizza from Napoli, everything else afterwards is just not on par.

yah, it sounds very cliche... but the sushi in japan will make you wonder why you ever bothered with any other kind anywhere else. You'll hate having sushi when you return home.
