I'm heading to Chicago on the 5th to see the Kooks at Metro in Chicago. Can anyone recommend a decent not super pricey hotel in that area (near Wrigley Field).
Yeah, I know I can harness the power of the interwebs to find such a thing, but I'd rather get recommendations from a person.
Thanks

I have no idea, I always stay at friend's places.
I am no help but these places are crazy.

Dude in this area you're going to get hosed.
It's more expensive than downtown.
I've never stayed in a hotel here as I've got a good friend who owns a condo a block away from Wrigley, but I know there hotels are in the area...
The Willows Hotel. It's maybe a mile away.
Radisson Hotel. Maybe 4 miles away. But I know this one costs less.
Congress Plaza Hotel. This one might be the cheapest. Maybe under 200 a night?? But it's maybe 6 miles away.
Honestly your best bet might be to look downtown and take the L up to Wrigley.

Put on some hotpants and hang out at a 7/11 in boystown. You will most definitely find a free place to stay for the night.

Thanks for the info k0na. I think I'll just stay downtown and take the train over.

City Suites Hotel
933 W Belmont Ave- Cheap(er) and older hotel
- Right near the Belmont EL
- 4 blocks south of Wrigley
- Just west of Clark street
(where Metro is)I live in this neighborhood. It's a decent looking place, if a little old.
Unless you want to experience downtown Chicago, I'd stay in the neighborhood.

I consistently get priceline 3-4 star hotels downtown for 60-70 a night. Never tried the wrigley area, but it's worth a shot.

awesome, thanks!
I'm pretty much flying in friday late, taking pictures of whatever during the day saturday, going to the show, and leaving early sunday, so no time to do the downtown thing.

When you go to the Metro make your way upstairs.
When you get to the top walk out past the bar out to the railing. Look to your right to the VIP area. More often than not Billy Coorgan will be in there.
He's been there the past 3 shows I've been to.
Also, hit up the Gyro place across the street. Best Gyros ever at 4am. :)
