I got a mtn bike this weekend and took it out for a 7 mile spin! I'm not gonna lie, that was tough considering I haven't ridden a bike in 16 years. Now I gotta find some trails out here in good ol' southern nevada!

I went out for the first time this year yesterday. My Jamis rode pretty nice, but I am really out of shape. Ouch.
Should be easy to find trails in nevada

oh good stuff man. I love riding. I need to tune my bike up again. Alternating riding and running during the week is my goal for the year. Find some good trails, wear a helmet!

I hope it is adamm. I truly have no clue where any would be, but my searching begins today.

man, I'm not sure if I would like riding in LV. late spring to early fall would be hot as hell. I'm not a big fan of riding trails when it's +100 out.

Also, talk the guys at the bikes shops. They know all, they should real up to date on trails, conditions, etc...
and yes garb up and wear a helmet.

a majority of them are in the so cal area but theres some in nevada and utah. Im not exactly sure how it works but this site is some how connected to google earth so you can scroll through the trails, see images and videos about them as well as the elevation. Its an awsome site for mountain biking. You can easily waste hours checking out different trails on it.

great links guys! I'm all over this. I've been wanting a bike for almost a year now, but have been just going back and forth about how much to spend on one; then I ended running into a friend who let me get his Trek 4300 for a $100! He only rode once, on the street and paid almost $500 for the bike... couldn't pass it up. Anyway, I figure it's a great starter bike for me. I really want to get into this as running and hiking gets old after a while, so I just need to mix things up.
And joyride, there's something about the heat out here... for some reason, although I hate driving around in this heat, I love working out in it. I often get out and exercise around noon during the summer... taking a run when it's 107°F is insane yet super rewarding at the same time.
Once again, thanks for the links guys!
