sometimes i despair.
so it's similar. get over it, do something creative with your time.
as for slagging someone you're trying to work for, that's got to be a bad idea.
- vespa0
did you register just to post that, crayons? i don't think he meant to slag them, he was just asking for advice.
- 23kon0
well, i'd be alright if i went for an interview there cos in my reply to that thread, i'd said that even if it was a rip or not, i still preferred their take on the word and logo, and it was easily readable not like the original.
any jobs goin then ICO ?:P
nae luck baskerville.
this has got to be even more embarassing than getting caught kneeling on the bathroom floor with your trousers round your ankles by your mum with a semicircle of porn mags distributed in front of you.:S

yep, my old long forgotten password was sent to an old email address so i had to.
surely feeling motivated by something that's been posted is the whole point of this anyway?
maybe i'm wrong on the slagging and i apologies if i am.
either way, that still wasn't a clever thing to do.
personally i think we're all influenced by someone, something or hopefully lots of both. the world is awash with design, which has to be a good thing, but it also makes it tricky to be totally original.
my humble that's all.

nah, getting caught wanking by your mum's worse Kon. Never managed it myself, formative experience was it?
- vespa0
yea it wasn't too clever. i just hope they haven't been all vindictive and alerted his current employer or anything silly like that. it's just weird he hasn't posted.

(Apr 16 07, 05:29)I think that's probably a smart move. He can turn up to the interview and get into the subject like it never happened.
At least that's what I'd do.

baskerville is just such a great designer, picky as hell and the type of bloke who would absolutely tell them what he thinks to their faces.
maybe not a clever move, posting a link to their site in his thread, but fair cop! he wanted to have a chat about morality and ethics and he got one...
i'm with you, vespa. i just hope nothing bad comes of it for him because, at the end of the day, he's got a point.

Either way, let it be a lesson to us all.
These walls most definitely have ears....

a lesson? i don't think we should cover our opinions up. a design company should be open to observations and questions about their work. instead of their hyperventilating and saying 'how dare you'.
granted .. as direct link to their site was pushing it. if he had copied it to a new server i wouldn't have a problem with this as a forum topic in the slightest.
