i think dyson and miele are the best ones on the market now. i know there are 2 new dysons that just came out as well.

yeah, i just need one for hardwood as well, and have been looking around a lot lately. i have lots of cats and such an obscene amount of dust and hair that something with a bag is absolutely out of the question. i would go thru bags daily. please suggest a bagless miele model that i should consider. their website hurts my eyes. thank you.

miele. period.
i am sorry, but if you speak with any repair person the first thing they will tell you is what a piece of shite the Dyson is and how often they get repaired- especially if you have carpet.
now, i know you said hardwood man, so it is less so- but the drive mechanism in the dyson is a joke. oh, and he also got the shit sued out of him for ripping a design off for the motor. just a little piece of trivia to boot. ;)

so i'm digging the roomba for the floors but now i need a hand vac for getting the cat hair (and extraneous little litter crumbs) and soon dawg hair off of our lovely couch... any recommendations?

I've got hardwood floors with rugs and a german shepherd. getting german shepherd fur out of rugs is a royal pain in the ass... no vacuum could cut it except for this one...

also, i got this one:
http://www.simplicityvac.com/pro…and curse the day i bought it everytime i use it. i personally do not like the canister type which is why i think. but, it is the same design as a meile and way less expensive. part like the hose, attachments and such as plastic, however.

(Apr 11 07, 17:34)i use that at home. the thing is those sweeping clothes got expensive. so i bought another microfiber pad and wraped it in an extra pakshak microfiber towel that is plusher, i had and it dusts like a charm.
