Man, sorry to hear about your collection getting flooded.
My wife and I just moved out of our place that flooded - twice. Luckily we were home and got the valuables to higher ground.
Now we vow to live on the second floor (or above) from now on.
What happened, if you don't mind me asking?

i have 3 books in a safety deposit box at my bank...
besides those i lost over 3000+ books in a flood that wrecked my parent's basement...i have 500 or so that werent damaged due to being poly-bag'd and boarded. the ones that werent damaged are the crap ones in my collection. all Image comics and Lightning comics and Valiant Comics survived...
the books that are woth anything would be the DC books...a full run of Batman and Superman did survive in a box that was off the ground...these were also bag'd too.
i dont know why but at that time i pourchased 3-6 issues of each issue that was a #1 ...

as nothing i had was insured...i could estimate that losing a great amount of Silver Age comics and Golden Age Comics i lost over $4K.

damn e. that sucks. at least your parents didn't give them away. I came home from college one summer and was looking for my millenium falcon. and my dad goes, oh we gave those 6 boxes of toys to so and so's kid. gaaaah - all my star wars, transformers and D&D shit was in there. is still gives me the squirts just thinking about it.

it also continues in Mighty Avengers...not sure what set off a Venom virus at all, but i think the Wolverine/ Venom Cover is one of the coolest ideas ever dropped out of Marvel!!
also in Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man the truth of what One More Day will be revealed and the beginning of the end for peter/ mj will finally start!!!

I'm reading Rising Stars at the moment, these books passed me by originally and a mate of mine has give me a lend of the TBs. Enjoying them so far.
I also read The Runaways the other day, I had to stick with that one to start with - a bit too 'kiddy', a bit Enid Blighton for my liking. But it picks up alright and I ended up enjoying it.

I'll tell you one I was disappointed with though, I just read 30 Days of Night and thought it sucked. What a shitty ending to that - good concept wrecked in my humble opinion.
