Hello there.
Quick question... I did some research, but I'm still a little confused. Is it true that a plasma TV can go bad at any time? like lose it's gas (or whatever you call it). Will they last? Or just gradually become dimmer and dimmer as time goes on?
Play it safe and get an LCD?
My budget is around $1k, and I surprisingly found a lot of name brand plasmas on sale (online).
Thank u.

Plasmas are usually rated with a half life of 30,000+ hours. That is how many hours you would have to watch it before the phosphours' brightness diminished by half. My Panasonic is rated at 60,000 hrs. Plasmas have always been my personal preference ... as long as you have a light controlled room. If you don't. i.e. lots of natural light, go LCD.
