So... all you fellow designers... got any idea what your companies bill your skillz at?? Trying to get an idea what the average might be. Just design... no IA or development... strictly visual.

oh...for the record, i am not in your industry...

75/hour... not bad. Not bad at all.
Anyone else? I'm mainly looking for interactive designers working for the man. You know who you are. What does the man charge his client for your services as a designer?
- r_mutt0
125-150 probably
- glen0
r_mutt... what type of a company are we talking about... size wise?
- glen0
**bump**
Anyone else got hourly numbers they'd like to share?
- madirish0
85/hr - 150/hr.
depends on the agency, level of urgency and phase of the project you are brought in on.
i would be happy though, billing 85/hr for 40 hours weeks for the rest of my life i think....

it's more like $35-100/hr.
it really depends on your skill and type of agency you work but i don't know many designers who can charge $100/hr consistently. probably the only way you can get 100-150 would be for super urgent high stress rush projects.where i work, we hire people we worked with in the past at other agencies. and it's a small industry so if you are good, everyone knows.
that said, if you don't know anyone here and haven't worked at any well known agency, it maybe hard to charge a lot of money right away. you need build your reputation first before asking a lot of money. also you get a good idea how your skill would match against people here in nyc. there are some amazing talents here.

you guys all misread his post it seems...
"got any idea what your companies bill your skillz at??"
-glen, i would imagine thats pretty avg across the board... bigger companies just charge way more people/hours than smaller ones...
- tkmeister0
ah, i totally missed that.
probably they bill about $1500-1600/day for my time.

Yeah... I was just trying to see what they average hourly might be for companies... not freelance.
I was guessing $115-125/hour
