Urgent Help Please

Hi Guys,
I have adobe creative suite 2 on my machine, all of a sudden I can seem to open the applications. illustrator just crash on opening. I click on the icon in the dock the startup screen come up seems to load everything then before it gets to show any of the tool or palettes it cashes and unexpectedly quits same happens with photoshop and indesign. I am on 10.4.9 on a G5 dual 2.7ghz, 2.5gig of ram. please help!

restart, repair permissions, restart...
no dice?
reinstall CS2.

What were you doing before it stopped working? Installed any other apps or fonts?

It does sound like a possible font issue.
Does it crash at the same point each time in the startup sequence? What is the app loading at that point?

Illustrator CS 1 used to do that to me sometimes. but then I told it, "Listen here woman, you're really starting to piss me off, and I'm sick of it."
Next reboot, all was well.

nope not installed anything maybe font just looking now, but things like keynote and pages work fine, just seemed to be adobe stuff

Tried deleting the preference files?

tried the prefs aswell

for some reason I think upgrading to 10.4.9 on OS has activated all my fonts within Font Book over 2000 fonts, and obvioulsy some were faulty and crashed them.
