transitions: print design to motion design

Has anyone ever made the sublimation–like transition from print to motion design? If so, what were the necessary steps? What did you have to learn or re–learn

tempo, rhythem! get a good sense of when and how things should happen... read a couple good books on the motion subject... and get inpired by all the dope animators out there.... chekout gmunk's work and read some of hillmans early books and get his thoughts on it.
AE is the shit...flash is great.. and 3D can be your worst nightmare (or best friend)!! forget about working in just one prgram and get used to the idea of working in multiple programs at the same time...
