yup, mrsparkle is one of the most clever players I have come up against, if only because he makes the best choices, not necessarily his favourites.

Well played everyone.
I like the pools on here, because I do not know enough people who like hockey (well all the band wagonners now in Pittsburgh, but as far as a general like of teams/players outside of here, haha) to constitute a league.
Let us just remember to get the scoring down first before picking our teams next season for the regular pop-off.

How do you feel about Crosby being captain? He's an amazing player, but still feels a bit too young. Remember when Lecavalier was named captain of Tampa Bay when he was 19, only to figure out that he couldn't handle it? I feel like Crosby would be a good captain but still too young to lead a team by himself.

As for your other comments, there are TONS of hockey fans here in Ottawa and Canada in general, heh. We have a lot of bandwagoners as well, but overall it's a religion over here.
I agree about the scoring and rules. We should have that settled (as in: each member should be clear about the way things are scored) before the calculations actually begin.

Yea, but Crosby’s situation is a bit different I think. He is arguably the best player in the game, and did well in the Alternate role the past year, and since we did not have a Captain since Lemeiux left, he has been basically carrying the mantle already.
Now it is just official.
The team is quite young too, and it looks like they may be trying to keep this squad for awhile.
* Looks forward to Lord Stanley here for quite some time... wants the defense gets pumped a bit and Fleury decides to show up every day, haha.

I think that my downfall was the first round, where of course I went with way too many Flames players even though they were stinking the joint up. I think that I was a distant last place after round 1.
For next season, we should make everyone that is not hiten, jaline, flav, ross and myself buy in at the start of the pool, so that we can avoid most people skipping out on their payment at the end.
It's been a slice again everyone, I'll be disappearing until hockey season because the pool is the only reason I frequent the PVN anymore... although I will be around to trash talk and talk about free agent signings here. Just make sure 'NHL' is in the thread and I'll be looking at it!
