Any of you wear glasses for computer use?
I've been noticing a lot more eyestrain lately and small headaches later in the day after working all day.
I was just reading about Computer Glasses on this site:
http://www.allaboutvision.com/cv…Anyone familiar with this or with eye problems from so much computer use? For what it's worth I'm on LCD's no matter where I use a computer rnow.

this happens to people with perfect vision as well so i'm not sure if they can blame it on the type of glasses you wear

$60,000 a year would gain $5,400 worth of productivity for an employer who paid for his computer eyeglasses
sounds like a BS sales tactic to me.

fluorescent lights emit a great deal of blue light, which makes it "difficult for the human eye to focus due to (blue light's) scattering characteristics."** Ultraviolet coating can cut down on the amount of blue light that reaches your eyes, as can an amber tint, Salibello said.
and that just made me laugh

I have glasses that have some anti glare coating supposed -- to ease the strain on the eyes. However I don't wear my glasses while using the computer, so I can't really verify.

this used to happen to me. i ended going to the local drug store and getting those a pair of the rack glasses, like -5 i think (forget how to measure the lens). worked fine for me.

you should stretch your eyes regularly, looking as far left, right up, and down as possible, and holding your eyes there for a few seconds

i do get sore eyes.
staring at a bright screen in a dark room will do that to you.
when i get home i soak a cloth, through it in the freezer and apply to my eyes. usually helps

Does it have to be glasses, why not just make something that you can put over the screen.

I use contacts for half the day and glasses for the other half.
Glasses are easier.

I could never wear contacts.

Well, I have horrible eyesight so I wear glasses at all times except when I'm sleeping.
- Jaline0
contacts, I mean. Glasses are for when I get home.

I have a weaker version of my reader glasses
Had them done professionally -
not of fthe rack- as the quality of the lens plus an antiglare coating are recommended. :~)

I wouldnt be suprised if theres a wave of old age designers with serious eyesight problems. Then again maybe we'll all just be plugging the compuers straight into our brains by that time anyway...
