I was wanting to incorporate a blog into an existing site layout. Has anyone here done this with WordPress or another blog software? Which would be the easiest to do this with?

I wanted to do something like this as well, but ended up just customizing a Wordpress template to look as close to my site as possible:

Are you talking about it more from a CMS perspective? That is something I looked into before when building a client site.

Yea, mg33. I’ve been too lazy, but I am I guess forever in the process of a CMS system that is a central log in point for a lot of websites, utilizing the same DB to save on implementation time and to swoop down with easy money going forward, heh.

I just need it for one page, a newsletter. I could code it but thought I would save time and try out some blog software without reinventing the wheel. I assumed it would be easier to use it within an existing site. I have found articles on doing it in Wordpress but it seems like a pain.

damn, I totally can't remember something I saw once and probably didn't bookmark.
Functioned like you stated, using a DB.
It's funny, I constantly wish I knew much more about that kind of development, because designing and building simple CMS that functioned with CSS and XHTML.
Maybe you could look around here:
Maybe this is someting worthwhile:

I've never used any blog software and I think I had some misconceptions on how they work technically. Are most design blog sites done in WP for instance really a link to a blog/WP theme that mimics the site design and nav of the rest of the pages? IS there a better way to have multiple dynamic pages in a site with WP?

textpattern was the one I was trying to remember.
At the time I was trying to research ones to use on a band's site in case they couldn't make updates themselves.
