How does one force IE to clear it's cache from a flash movie?
swfObject and UFO doesn't seem to work. The flash movie seems to repeat only on god damn IE over and over again, and it's not switching to the next movie in the queue. Obviously the cache holds on to the movie.
Read up on UFO which is pretty much similar to swfObject, but that doesn't help either.
Any advice?

what are you trying to do?
Do you have one main Flash Movie (the container), and load other movies (.swfs) into it?

it's one swf file and displays movie one after the other. does that make sense?

oh I think i get it, you're making updates and it's getting stuck in ie's cache. right?
- cosmo0
exactly, it's suppose to switch but it's not.
my swf file is suppose to play videos, right now there is 5 videos, once video 1 has finished it should show the next video. This works on FireFox without a problem, IE doesn't seem to clear the cache.

you could add a timestamp to the end of the movie string. so the flash movie would look like:
myMovie.swf?=326574954645
That would force the browser to load the flash movie each time... not to efficient though

wouldn't I have to reload the whole page for that? or am I being stupid?

or I guess you could manually change the number at the end for testing. Just increase/change it when you make a change, that way it pulls the new file from the server. Ghetto, but workable.
