Thanks zombie! I've got an XBOX 360 that I'll be using on it too so thanks a ton for mentioning that.

whatever you buy, make sure you tune it or pay someone to tune it ($$$ but worth it I hear).
I've used:
AVIA guide to Home Theatre
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product…But I see a couple other ones out there, anyone try any of the other tuning dvd's?

I am looking in to a smaller LCD
27 - 32 its for my room and mainly for video games. for the moment samsung seems like the one to get.my deal is I just want a gaming tv, it doesn't have to be the best I can get. I need the best looking for the lowest cost... I dont want to spend more the $900 bucks. (any suggestions)
Now for my living-room I would spend some cash and get a kick ass sony or pioneer

I've been looking at LCD's and the samsungs are pretty sweet. probably going to go with a samsung 40" 1080.

haha CALLES.
I can't wait to get into the store and check these out up close.
I really liked the look of the samsungs though but we'll have to see once I get in there.

i have a 52" not as big as you'd think, not bulky or in the way at all
- JSK0
if you are gonna go that big, i would get plasma
they run hotter and take more elec but the colors and contrast cant be beat.
also, on most LCDs, look for resolution not just inches. I have 46 inch LCD and i can see pixelation from 10 ft away.
as for DLP, its just brighter projection tv. it still has viewing angles and cant see shit during the day.

if you are getting a rear projection.. get LCD
if you are getting a flat panel.
LCD

the pro-1140HD are pretty sick. we have a couple in the office.

e-pill i've been leaning towards samsung.
46"-50". maybe up to 55" if i find a good deal.
- k0na_an0k0
Morilla that's fantastic!
I like the 46" a lot.
- e-pill0
also at most i will be 10 feet away from viewing...
as reading above i see some screens cant be seen in sunny rooms which the tv room is very sun lit...
i have an old picture tube tv that has a magnetic colour stripe on one side ...
i jsut dont know these things about technology...so i need a nudge to get my ball rolling...

samsungs are nice, but those Elite's are incredible. Go see them in person.
- JSK0
dont get samsung
alot of pixelation and speakers suck unless you have hifi system
alot its not bright enough during the day.
- e-pill0
a lot meaning plasma, or lcd, or dlp??
- k0na_an0k0
E I think at most I'll be about 8 feet or less away. The way the living room is set up it's narrow and long.
No direct sunlight ever hits the tv either so I don't have that to worry about.
A lot of my buddies have the DLP and I've been really impressed but a few of my buddies are saying go LCD.
The Sony WEGA are super nice too.
