am i missing something here?
this kid is using the exact same stock photography with virtually similar designs as http://hellocolor.com
is this the new cool thing to do? bunch of 20 year olds all using the same shit, just with different smells?
i weep over the future lack of originality.

his work aint bad, though it looks like he just borrowed the styles from electric heat, nopattern and non-format and mashed em together. not saying it doesn't look good though...

I'm ready for a new trend.
I feel like I've seen a million of these design-y digital illustrations. And they're all beautiful, and cool, and slick...but the same.

This trend has been going on for a long time now.
Whatever, let people do what they're good at. Just don't visit their site.

(Mar 26 07, 06:30)Jaline, I'm not going to tell anybody to change their style – trendy or not. and I'm not suggesting a boycott either.
I just tune out now when I see that style all over someone's portfolio, which is too bad. People should put their artistic talents to work on finding their own voice.

WTF?!
indeed.
Looks better than anything I could bash out, the second guy not only states "collaboration" but even links the first guy. If you are really so interested in someone ripping someone else off why not look beyond the 1st glance?
It is WAY to easy to point the finger and say "look a turd monkey".
WTF?! indeed.
sorry pal you're sad.

(Mar 26 07, 06:35)I know, I feel the same way.
I guess it's different strokes for different folks...or whatever it is.
There was a thread here recently about repetition among the portfolio of designers, and I think that shouldn't be questioned as much as the work itself. I know I have a very repetitive style among my work, but it's all I have time to learn until I can further my scope.

mattyd – you've definitely got your own approach on the illustrative stuff.
and who the hell am I to play style-police anyway. just commenting on how this hyper-vector explosion thing has got to be on its way out soon.

*holds mirror of deflection toward chossy.
your phone is proper buggered by the way ye kittyFiddler.
Was going to ask you and yours round to break bread and melt cheese likes.
