I'm working on packaging a dvd at work, but I sent the box to print and I was explained by the printer that if you uv both sides, one side will eventually be glossier than the opposite one. It's not a huge difference but I can tell, specially if the glossier side is the inside of the box. don't know if the guy is bs'ing me.
Anyone here experienced that before?

Maybe you should learn something about paper and printing before starting the job.

I never heard of suck a thing, and I dont think it matters, but the safest thing to do is make a proof print. check it out, if you dont like it ask them for solutions on how to improve it.
hows that?
(that should be in the design for dummies book)

haha, it was a proof, and we switched printers for this project, so I had to start from 0 with these guys. So far they have been bad, and that excuse sounded a little weird. They'll bring me another proof next week. I'm pushing to drop them and go back to our old printer but I can't find that chapter in my book.

how could it 'eventually' become glossier? that's awesome.
