Have always wanted to Live and Work in NY... I am wandering if anyone went to New York without a work visa or Greencard and if they were able to find work. Or those who couldn't? Any advice...

I had mates working in NY without a green card and were kicked out as they were narked on by co-workers.
I lived and worked in SF but literally every single job asked for my work visa upfront. I would think it would be kinda hard to do from my experience, well to get a job worth having that is.
I would be like a shot if it were easier

there are alot of people here working in creative with out a visa.
even big agencies pay you under the table
