if i send a client an invoice, do they need to signature it and send it back to me... there seems to be a discrepancy regarding this. some invoices have no signature line, some do.

invoices don't need signatures – they just need to be paid.

you need a Pruchase Order (PO) before you start the work, this is signed and states what yr doing for em and how much your going to charge them

as they all stated.

Just to second UndoUndo's reminder – you should definitely have a signature, but this should apply to a contract and/or purchase order. Always have a signed contract. always.

(Mar 19 07, 07:09)usually the person signingthe invoice may not be there at that moment, or it wont be signed til they are ready to sign it.
just because you sent the invoice doesnt mean its all set to go.
sometimes you might have to wait...and i mean more than a week.
be patient, but be stern.

(Mar 19 07, 07:09)You were talking about an invoice – not sure where the faxed contract issue came from...
but, Faxed documents with signatures ARE NOT LEGALLY BINDING. You need a real signature, so have a good faith email exchange where they agree to mail the contract back – and then wait for the signed contract to arrive.
