Am I missing something?
They have had that holding page up for about 6 months.

Never understood why some design agencies get web companies to design their site.
Nice content though.

(Mar 15 07, 06:05)In my experience, designing for yourself/studio tends to be extremely difficult. And no one inevitably cares about work samples you do for yourself. So I say, if you can, no harm in hiring someone to do promotional/design work for you – often brings a fresh approach.

not all design companies have web skills
hence the bad web sites for great design companies

Excellent site. Brilliant portfolio. Definitely bookmark-worthy. I'd like to know how they get images that size to load so quickly (for me w/ DSL, Powerbook, anyway)
I imahine they designed the site and hired out for the programming. This is standard practice for shops whos' primary discipline(s) is something besides web. it's just like hiring a photographer, a top-notch retoucher, illustrator, etc...go where the expertise is. Some people say that the future is in being a jack-of-all-trades, but I think that's silly if you can collaborate with talented people in niche skills to compliment what you yourself can bring to the table. The work gets done right that way, and faster.

they could show polaroids in a paper bag full of dog shit and that work would still look fan-fucking-tastic.

Pretty sure thats been work in progress for over a year... saw a sneak peek ages and ages ago...
MadeThought hire interactive agencies to do their interactive stuff for them. Simple.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on their "25 Years of Force" for Nike piece.
Those images don't even begin to do justice to how awesome that collection is. The books are made without a binding, just some outstanding folding.
Outstanding work.

if you look at their folio - its all print. they dont do web it seems, so it makes sense to outsource their own site.

I've done www.reiss.co.uk and www.foundassociates.com with them
