my client wants to add a blog to their website and they want to be able to update it regularly.
my client knows little/nothing about computers. i know little/nothing about blogs.
ideally i'd like to find a way to integrate the blog into the site completely, but if i need to link to an external site, that would be okay too. the most important thing is that i can match the design of the blog page to the design of the web page fairly well.
any ideas?

try wordpress as its easy to use and intigrate.
knowing css will help greatly.

Consider hosting it on a separate domain if you also need to gain some SEO with the main site content.

Yes, I suggest using something like Wordpress.
You can also use http://www.livejournal.com, buy a paid account, and completely customize the entire thing (even domain re-direction), but that will take some extra time to code.
Knowing CSS will be important.

thanks!
i'm looking at wordpress now and it looks pretty straightforward. would this allow me to build the blog directly into the new website, or would i put it in a frame in the new site? i want to avoid linking to the blog outside of the new website. does this make sense?

i frame is the easy way i guess, should work, but learning css might be useful for the future

anyone else use super simple? i like the idea of a blog that's super simple to integrate with a website...

heavyt's got it. that is a nice, independant approach to adding a blog feature to a site.

i'm sorry, when i said 'independant' i meant that you can bolt that bugger on without affecting the rest of the site.

heavyt, i love the idea of your blog, but i keep getting the following error:
Your submission could not be processed due to a system error. We apologize for any inconvenience.
This is the error: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'CURRENT_TIMESTAMP, `image` TEXT NOT NULL default '', `title` va
