my boss just asked me if there is any alternatives techniques for mounting. they don't want spray mount or rubber cement. the waxer (i never used) they say is no use...

Usrper. The only good thing I got out of the last company I worked for was a good mount paper.
It's a large roll of double stick paper. You peel off the one side and stick it to the back of what you're trying to mount, roll it on good, then peel off the backing on the other side and stick it to what you want.
It's really cool and there is no mess.
I think it was made by 3M.

kona, what are they called again?
- grunttt0
what kona is talking about is called PMA (positionable mounting adhesive) - good stuff.

how big and of what? i do custom framing for gallery shows, i could give you some free ideas if you're willing to expand on your medium, location, etc.
- usrper0
that would be great. what you mean by expand medium, location?
does it take much space?

any art store will have these, but it's adhesive dots that you peel one side and use the other side to roll the dots onto the back of the print then remove that sheet to leave a pattern of sticky dots.
did i just describe what grunttt was talking about? anyway they are great and much less messy.

alternative mounting? whate other kind of answer did you really expect. We use the thing Kona is talking about here too... roll the item to be mounted through the machine, peel off the back, place, use a roller to make sure there are no bubbles, peel off the front.
the xyron 1200..

or get an intern

this stuff... but you don't need the press/roller thingy

this will open a whole new can of worms, but dry mounting works good...
you can purchase dry mount tissue from any frame store.
how large are you talking?
we do large format prints and adhere them to thick boards, but it's serious machinery...
