i'm no nerd, but i'm waiting to get my hands on a PS3 when they get released here on March 23rd, only 18 more days to go.

The European PS3 isn't going to have the PS2 Emotion Engine chip so backward compatibility is going to be a bit crippled compared to the NA version. It'll all be software and will probably be OK in the end, but expect it to be buggy. :\
Not that you buy a PS3 to play Crash Bandicoot, but still...

Yeah but GTA San Andreas, Ico, Shadow of the colossus, Manhunt, MGS3, etc in 720p/1080i? I'm sold.
I just hope the previous systems (with Emotion Engine) will work the same way as the new systems with after the firmware update. I'd rather have upscaled PSone/PS2 games than full backward compatibility.
