why is it that every single designer's portfolio seems to have a CV rather than a resume?
is that just some sort of cool trend that everyone seems to follow based on others, sort of like needlessly mentioning how MT hosts your website?
or does a "CV" have some sort of relevance to graphic arts in some magical way that resume doesnt?
just wondering because nearly every single other field will ask for "resume", every other applicant in other field seems to write a "resume".. and i only ever see CVs mentioned predominately by 'designy peoples'.

Americans use resume
everyone else uses Curriculum Vitæ [CV]

a cv is more commonly used by artists, hence it's popularity in the design field.

because the word resume looks stupid without the accented e.

what's the diffo?

well to me when I read "resume" it looks like resume as in continue... but with the accented "résumé" it actually sounds like it looks!

i've all-consumed myself with this concern before. the difference i noted was while we americans use a resume plus cover letter, the brits (and others i suppose) have collected them into one tidy document called the cv.
