What would be a good typeface to represent the beginning of the 1800's in america?
I am open to purchase, so it doesn't have to be free.

Caslon & it's variants were, i believe, in vogue around that time. Go with Caslon Pro, if you have a Mac you already have it. Unless you are actually trying to replicate script handwriting, in which case flavorful apparently holds the corner on that market.

i am going to use caslon for crappy mockups (and maybe the final) but keep looking at all these from flavorful
