I have a 6 gig video from a production house that i need to compress for the web. the video is 720x480 and is only 4 minutes long.
Eventually, the video is going to be converted to an .flv using Sorenson Squeeze.
I'm looking for suggestions on how to best optimize this video. Also, what final optimized file size should I be shooting for.
Thanks in advance.

Also, does anyone know of a good primer on codecs that I can read online?

Import straight into Sorenson 4 and export to FLV (If you have the new Sorenson Software, not just plugin/codec). File size should be around 20-30 megs depending on quality settings.
If you are using Flash 8 to encode FLV, turn it into high quality QT , import QT, and export to FLV, use OnVP2 codec.

Ok, Here's my final file:
http://www.ckdigitalphx.com/uplo…The text is still looking choppy (the large purple banners that are zoomed in (e.g. at 2:28 of the movie).
Any idea on how to keep the text crisp and file size still at 30 megs?

use FlixPro to encode to an flv using on2vp codec, but it uses 2 passes when it does so, instead of the native Flash video encoder which uses only one..
The last link there was dead :(
