Anyone listen to Opie and Anthony in the mornings?
They were playing clips this morning from the Tyra Banks show yesterday, where she did this huge thing about herself and it being the 10 year anniversary of her being on the SI Swimsuit Edition.
She was celebrating black history month, and in her typical "I'm so important" voice said something like:
"As part of Black History month, we're going to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of a day that broke down doors and empowered black girls and women across the country to be proud of who they are: Me and my SI Swimsuit Edition cover."
Now, I get that it's a meaningful event, but she's so up her own ass day-in and day out.
The radio show guys had a good punchline considering Tyra holds herself in the esteem of notable African Americans like MLK, Rosa Parks, etc. when they said something like:
Good for you Tyra! The objectification of women and the marketing of them as sex symbols is right up there with what MLK and Parks did to inspire black people."
Maybe you just had to hear it on the show, but it was funny as hell. That woman is so fake and so silly it's unbelievable.

I saw bits and pieces of this on The Soup the other day.
It's funny/sad.
Tyra let the 'You're fat' photos get to her WAY too much and is now being super pathetic and going out of her way to show everyone she's not fat. Sweetie... we don't care.
And, nothing like overshadowing Beyonce's cover SI issue with a 'who gives a fuck about her, look at my issue' crap.
It's sad. She cares way too much about what other people think of her.

The way she talks on her show you'd think she's going to talk about something serious like AIDS or Cancer survivors. Nope. She breaks into her SI Issue from 10 years ago and comes out in the same suit 20lbs fatter. Unbelievable.

I love America's Next Top Model, but I agree that Tyra's annoying. She has her funny moments though, like sometimes when she goes batshit crazy at one of the girls.
