yays and nays of PSCS3 Beta ?? .. and what you're running it on
- e-pill0
why do you need to upgrade to a beta no less?
doesnt ps already do what you want??
does the upgrade really excite you to fix photos?

Yay.
CS3 running on a MacBook Pro 2.16 with 2GB Ram on 10.4.8.

you seem really negative towards technology lately epillz

as a working designer i don't know who's got time to screw around with betas.
unless you're bored in an office job with time to kill... ?
- e-pill0

(Feb 20 07, 10:49)Nope. I've been trying to figure out how to get them for weeks and finally gave up.
Also, the selection tool and pencil are 1 pixel below where I want them. Pisses me off.
But... CS3 is much faster than before, especially with text so it's a small price to pay.

3 doesn't crash as much as 2 did, but it still freezes every once in a while. Freezes for a few seconds, I mean, and then you have to click around the screen to make the palettes and windows visible again. Pain in the ass sometimes, but I know that 2 was worse.

on my MBP the brush size circle shows up perfectly fine.
delete prefs, restart and it should work as normal.

overall, it's been great. love the new tool panel layouts, and it is overall a lot faster. some problems I have had include - +2 minute loading times for the "save for web" dialog, with spinning pizza. +1 minute hang times when placing or resizing a vector smart object from Illustrator. Anyone else experienced similar problems?

happy with cs.
still works fine, faster on the intel mac, than on the old powerbook g4, no need to upgrade.

i have the same problem with my brushes not showing up...
any fixes?
- johndiggity0
i have problems with the brushes as well, but only under 10px in size. also, chaning any of the preferences without a document open makes it very mad. other than that, i'm so much happier to be using it over cs2, and this is on my work machine. i still have cs2 installed and have no trouble going back and forth ebtween the two.

1) Select the Photoshop application and choose Get Info
2) Select "Open using Rosetta"
3) Launch Photoshop

chief, you rock!
thanks man. obviously a bit slower performance-wise, but it's quite worth it to be able to see my brush!

yay - on vista x64

i have a couple complex files (mockups) that crashes it
they open fine in cs2
it seems to be something with the text or fonts or something...
:(
