anyone know of a good local offset printer in LA? it would be a dream to find one that did lower runs than 1K.

less than 1K = wasting your time. i'd suggest trying to gang your job on press sheets.
whenever someone asks me for 500 biz cards i make myself 500 on the same sheet using the same inks and build into the cost.

hortons right, even trying to get cds printed, cards, flyers, anything like that, they tell you, "we'll run the full order and throw away what you don't buy"
