I wish i could say fuck off.
I'm bitching about my bosses client. We're a two-man operation – so it's not my decision – just my job to do. He's not happy about it either, but he doesn't have to do it....
Really, I'm just bitching, but I appreciate the advice.
In my freelance business I'll put this into practise.

Sorry to hear about your situation Gucci.
But you shouldn't be afraid to tell your client that you don't do certain parts of a project. You don't ask your realtor to mow your lawn even though it has to be done.

haha. good point, jox.
this has been the icing on a shit-layered cake recently. I'm generally not a whiner, and the client is a good guy, but he gets away with murder.
I've told my boss this. He agrees.
Nothing happens.

ask for everything in digital format, otherwise add a surcharge for typing their crap up

put together a road map, explaining how you are going to clean their shit up. charge lots, and if they deny, tell em to beat it

also, use benchmarks. don't start unless X is paid and materials are in in X format. if you do a midway benchmark for a percentage, write up a summary of what you've done to complete your end of the bargain and if you're waiting for material to finish the job, you don't continue from that point until EVERYTHING is in.
i won't start working from my midpoint to the end of the project until all assets are in.
most clients really appreciate this since you're helping them organise, and they have a clear understanding of the path they're on. when you have that defined, there are no nasty surprises at the end.
