"Untreated, mortality is high, mainly due to peritonitis and shock."
"Appendicitis can be classified into two types, typical and atypical. The pain of typical acute appendicitis usually starts centrally (periumbilical) before localising to the right iliac fossa (the lower right side of the abdomen). There is usually associated loss of appetite and fever. Nausea, or vomiting may or may not occur. These classic signs and symptoms are the least painful way to localize the area of peritonitis. If the abdomen is involuntarily guarded (rigid), there should be a strong suspicion of peritonitis requiring urgent surgical intervention."
Hmm..it may be rigid, not too sure. But I'm guessing a sign is not being able to stand up okay. I had a bit of nausea, but that's about it. There was some loss of appetite b/c my stomach was hurting and who wants to eat when it hurts? But I had no problems eating any food. No fever either.
Hmm..don't think this is it, but I will go for a checkup if the pain doesn't go away in a few days. It's already starting to subside so maybe it was a stomach flu that just effected my stomach and not the rest of my body.

Sorry to digress in your thread, Rand. Sorry you're having a shitty day. It's almost over!

Haha yea, only like 2 hours and 58 minutes fro Hump Day to be over (double entedre....? .... eh, that is stretching it).
Appendicitis always springs to my mind because my friend had it, but was too cool or whatever to let anyone know he was in pain and it ruptures so bad it can almost be unrepairable (your insides as in you die afterwards).
He was in the hospital for weeks.
...
We really never hung out after that, as I am one of those people where you are either boom boom here, or bye bye there.
Did I just write I'm not a good friend, haha?!

I actually thought he quit....I guesses not.

well, i was young and understandably much more of a sissy than i am today, but i just remember lying on the floor writhing in pain and screaming. of course, my appendix was dumping poison into my system and i would have been dead within 24 hours had i not gone to the hospital and into surgery immediately, so it was kind of an extreme case of appendicitis
- ********0
Yea acescence, I think they are all like that if you let them go long enough (deadly that is).

"The pain of typical acute appendicitis usually starts centrally before localising to the the lower right side of the abdomen"
"a cough also produces a localized soreness."
okay, that's really true so it's creeping me out.

and it was thanksgiving day too. my family still brings up the fact that i ruined that one thanksgiving, like it was my choice. i ate thru a fucking tube for a week, so i don't wanna hear no complainin!
- ********0
hahahahah!
That sounds so typical of a family after the fact you are alrite, and everything is okay ... to go back tot he fact you ruined something. Like why couldn't you have had a life-threatening disease two days later when the entire family wasn't there, haa.
- Jaline0
hahaha, so true.
We just so happened to get our report cards the same day as my 16th birthday and I didn't get above 85% on everything like my parents (specifically my mother), wanted me to, so I got grounded.
For real.
