What does that do exactly, redirect the bot?

any request for the first part goes to the section part.
i.e any request for .html goes to .php but it also returns a 301 in the header...telling any search engine (bot) that the php file is to be used instead of the .html one and that its permanent. this should help get the .html out of the G's index too
