typically what would a studio/company/freelancer charge more for...an extensive flash site, or a motion graphics spot (maybe something less than 30 seconds)? im just wondering whats a more expensive commission on average..
take the work of Big Spaceship for example (just an example). they've got big elaborate websites, and theyve got broadcast pieces. if you were to arbitrarily compare 2 of them, which do you think was the costlier project?

imma gonna go with a website, If all the steps are taken define, design, dev then there's a lot more hours involved.
Of course if the spot has all the bells: cgi, pre production, production, post. thing can get costly as well.
you really need the briefs to compare two projects side by side

does anyone else have an response to this? most commercial broadcast work ive seen looks just as painstaking as elaborate flash sites.. but isnt one or the other generally a more expensive commission?

video work i don't find as in depth and "kill client worthy" as sites are, both pay about the same, easier to tweak a video for the client, no interaction , what you see is what everyone sees, no cross browser bs etc

I just did a smaller website for a company who wants to do their main website with firstborn... the marketing director walked in, described the site, the guy closed his eyes, thought for a while and said, $150,000.
That's the way to do it.

btw, just realized what I said had no relevance to this thread
