I am currently creating a flat html website. The client would like to have music playing but does not want the music to stop and start at the beginning as you navigate from one page to the other. Is there a way of telling the flash mp3 player to play continuously?

one option would be to use frames for the site and have the player in one frame and the content in another (not recommended).
a better option would be to launch the player in an independent window.

i'd rather have frames than a pop-up window that could potentially be blocked. either way, i would avoid starting the music automatically.

This idea just has trouble written all over it. What's the client's justification for the persistent audio?

Its going to be background music for a hair salon.... They just didn't want it to stop as you browse through the site

just be sure to have the option to mute the sound easily...Use i frames to build the site, and perhaps make the navigation and the audio player in one flash unit, and then load of all your html content in an iframe/frame. I think fluid.nl does this rather nicely...hope that helps!

you could use iframes also.

use ajax to update the content
i did it on http://www.hallucinationbeforech… to put the stupid little bell sounds in
you can use a hidden frame or iframes but you lose the direct linking aspect of the site if you do that
