I was wondering what the cheapest you would charge for a freelance website. I know there are TONS of factors that go into this, but what is the lowest you will go to even consider doing one?

i would do it for free
and have done it for free.i would only charge for external cost such as hosting, domain names, etc that requires me to pay out of pocket

I've done stuff for free before also... but only for connected people that I know will get a lot of traffic and generate me more work... it works!

I appreciate your generosity, but lets say you were to charge someone, how much :P

I know someone who does 6 pages for £125 ($250).
But I think he is playing middleman to some easy website service.

I tend to go for free service before doing ultra cheap work - that way you still have arguments to do other stuff, and 'clients' are not going: "but I'm paying you"
But I'd always go with a CMS like Wordpress or sumthin for very cheap, to keep work low ;)

Nope it's £150.
Oh dear.
I've just looked at one of these projects. I would forward the link but he's a mate and it really is bad. I just don't understand the use of Flash when there really is no need for it.

small html site with minimal flash $1,000

I’d go in a shade under $1000, say about $945 you’re still be competitive and it just helps to get under that psychological barrier of four figures. Thats why you see 10 grand cars on dealers lots for $9995, makes a lot of sense when you think about it. As we all know creative pricing is a law to itself, but its always better to sometimes do stuff for free if you think you may get more work off the back of it, rather than sell yourself short.

personally, i do not do anything for under 5k. i know it seems ridiculous, but after years of working with clients there is so much more to it then designing a building....meetings, edits, project management, etc. never really gets factored in and always takes double the time than you think.....
