i spent the whole day googlin and searchin NT for this info on Flash. Can someone help plz?
I want to create a flash site for a rebranding project. I would like to have an image in the background such as a picture of a person crossing the street.
I want to be able to have the user resize the flash movie according to the browser size.
That is, I want the image in the background to resize as the browser is resized.
and I want the other elements such as logo to stay in a particular position such as top left or bottom right or however I do it.
Plz someone point me to a tutorial or something.
Most articles I have seen reference setting the width and height of the stage to 100%. I'm not sure that this is what I want.

It sounds like what you're asking for is a contradiction of sorts.
In order for you to assign position to elements in your movie that will adjust on browser resize, you will have to make use of something like this:
var stageL:Object = new Object();
stageL.onResize = function()
which will only work if you Publish using "No Scale", with a Width and Height of 100%.This of course will prevent your background image from "Scaling".
My guess is that you must choose one or the other.

I really should make a cool looking one if people are going to keep asking about this.

And, here's a handy little javascript I wrote that will let you set minimum dimensions for your swf:
So it will remain at 100% unless the browser is smaller than the minimums, at which point it will set the swf to the fixed minimum to allow for scrolling.

Sure thing st33d, I remember seeing some site where a dude wrote an extension to SWFObject that added that functionality but I wanted to do it myself :)
