so, never really used ind, and i've been charged with finishing up this newspaper and getting it to press...
upon opening the doc, first thing i notice is that a lot of the text has a light yellow background, with all the ligatures being a slightly darker shade of yellow.
wtf is that?

the font is not loaded in suitcase or whatever font mgr you are using

you can highlight special characters in the preferences as a quick visual guide. you can also turn it off.
You can also ask ind to highlight kerning/tracking, etc.ind also highlights missing fonts (usually in red/pink)
check to make sure it's not highlighitng a missing font.

usually you are warned when opening a doc if there is a missing font. no?
ands as gucci says in Pref / Composition
checked - H&J Violations will give you a light yellow
