worked 3 months of one summer here in Vegas doing work for a concrete company (I was earning money for Jr. College). Was out in the field "grading" dirt to prep for them to pour the concrete into the sidewalk molds. after 3 days of that, they "promoted" me to demolitions and spent the remainder of the summer ripping up garages, sidewalks, driveways and correcting foundations digs. Fucking sucked, but I'll never forget the 50 something year old man with leathery skin that told me that when I was done working there at the end of the summer, to go to school, get my education, and never look back at physical labor.

(Jan 30 07, 10:44)Dude I have a very similar experience. I was digging ditches and laying telephone wire and power cable to homes and a 50 something dude told me nearly the exact same thing. Scared me to stay in school and make something of myself.

was it the same guy?

Silk screen plant in Columbus, OH. Got a job cleaning screens. My first week, I got some of the chemicals in my eyes and went blind. Quit that day. My vision remained cloudy for days...
Another: photographer for Kmarts, family portrait dept. I quit before lunch my first day.

roofing houses... better yet, stripping houses then being a laborer for the guys roofing houses. But, it was a great reminder of why I was in school.

Spent a summer cleaning the toilets and floors in a Toys R Us. That sucked.
The highlight was when i caught some kid stealing a Hot Wheels car.

It's a toss-up between McDonalds for 6 weeks in high shcool and this awful agency for 6 weeks in Baltimore.
- harlequino0
At least you did't work at the agency repping McDonalds, gramme. Ick.

*school
heh

it was the agency repping the Baltimore Ravens. Their work was such utter shite that I haven't put it on my resume. It's a very brief chapter of my life that might as well be erased.

(Jan 30 07, 11:15)The good thing is, I once got hired just on the basis that I worked at McD's right before. Because it's stressful and dirty enough to be worse than many other jobs.
I got harassed multiple times while working there.

Also, I actually lasted one year there.
