if it was, none of them mentioned it, or gave credit. Big No-No.

fraud is when you lie to the irs. this is not fraud.
- traut0
i dont think its that big of a deal if they worked on it together but i think they should mention it.

(Jan 30 07, 07:28)right. like when one of my family members brags about cheating the IRS by claiming he donated $ to this and that charity. makes me want to stab him in the neck.
- harlequino0
Seems like a silly non-issue. Anyone who has ever worked at an agency or sizable firm knows that a bunch of people frequently work on something before it goes out the door.
- tommyb0
Why stab him in the neck? Just because you're sucker enough to give you're money to the national debt. It goes towards absolutely nothing else.
Get back at the IRS and buy bonds.
Oh, and if it's like mograph, multiple people work on the same piece and don't give credit as long as they can really have done it all with enough time.
- -sputnik-0
tommyb, i wasn't making a reference to wriggling out of paying some taxes.
just don't pretend you're giving them to a freaking charity. that's low.
- -sputnik-0
not to mention that the last thing i am is "sucker enough" when it comes to finances and taxes. but i'll let that slide since you don't know who you're talking to.
- maxB0
when/if you guys and gals donate to say the red cross or salvation army to you get a reciept?
they always ask and i saw no.
am i dumb?
i just feel stupid giving a few bags full of clothes to people in need and asking for a receipt so i can get some money back.
should i?
who cares?
- harlequino0
why is that dumb? You paid for those clothes, and now no longer have them. Is it better that the govt. gets to keep that money?
Get a receipt dude!
- maxB0
hmm. good point harlequino. i'll do that next time.
do i have to give them a rough gestimate of how much all the clothes cost?
do they take old blowup dolls?
hope so. my closet is full.
- missmyexit0
If it was a collab of some sort, why do the backgrounds differ in each piece... arent end products of any kind usually the same?
- OSFA0
do they take old blowup dolls?
hope so. my closet is full.

(Jan 30 07, 08:19)If they don't send them my way.
- maxB0
will do osfa.
so has anyone asked yet either of these two dudes what's going on?
which came first.
the chicken or the egg?
- missmyexit0
Ive seen the Pillowhead guys stuff way earlier/ about a year and a half now. This other guy just posted his site up today

if you take your clothes to goodwill, they automatically give you a receipt.
i used to give clothes and furniture to some people who worked in the building i lived in, and i never asked or got a receipt for that...and that was fine by me.
- maxB0
sputnik they always ask me if i'd like a receipt and i always say no.
seems... i don't know... trivial.
there are people out there who really need my old clothes and i need a receipt for 200 bucks worth of clothes from a few years i'm giving away.
doesn't seem right to me.
but i'm a broke ass college kid so maybe i need all the help i can get.
- -sputnik-0
maxB, i never really paid attention until i bought a house. until then, the basic deduction covered everything and those receipt never really made a difference.
the way i see it, i could use my old stuff as rags to clean my house, car etc. but i choose to clean them and take them to goodwill before they look decrepit so that someone else can use them. getting a receipt for that is fine by me.
