Just so we can let this thread get back to its original purpose, which was to respect a man for what he had accomplished...
...I made the comment because as someone who's family was stationed in the UK during the war, the only reason you have electricity now is because of the US Forces. You're comment that this poor man who lost his legs becuase 'he had killed for the USA' was a little much, lad.

And, I care because it happened to my best friend from high school the year after our graduation. 18 and he loses both legs.
Watching him learn to walk again was the worst.
Seeing him compete and place in the 1996 Para Olympics was the best.

I don't think you get what i'm saying Kona. Fair enough, this guy has learned to walk again. Bravo. Lots of people have overcome far worse though and I don't see why grinch thinks this guy is special just because he lost his legs fighting for the US.

(Jan 26 07, 10:05)Fair enough. But I took Grinch's point as the kid didn't give up and say it's over. Instead he's biked across the country, competed in what looks like was a Triathalon and the ParaOlympics all to help bring awareness. Which is damn cool.
