Does anybody know of either tutorials/software or best practices that can help in the indexing of flash sites?

Macromedia/Adobe have a SDK for it
www.adobe.com/licensing/develope…...
I havent looked at it for a while. In short you need to get all yr text content from flash into some sort of html/xml format for the engines

Excellent. :)
I read a bit about it and there's mixed response.
Have you tried it first hand / and it works?

I have looked at it and tried it out but most of our stuff is from a db so it would be easier to do what it does yrself. SEO is a HUGE subject that constantly evolves.
TBH your starting off on the wrong foot if you have a full flash site and you are looking for it to compete on SERPS placement but one of the best things you can do is to get quality inbound links that are genuine and not bought and that develop in a natural way.
If you make the content readable by the SEs youll get a good start.
also check out this forum, all of the standard SEO stuff applies to you...you just have to do that and the flash bit
good luck!
