I remember in school I'd just get a fat text book and slam it into the combination part a few times.
It would completely fuck the spine of the book up ('borrowed' of course), but would pop open the lock eventually.
Not the quietest way to 'pick' a lock, but I found it to be real simple to just do a quick row and then either dip out of the hallway when teachers would pop out wondering what all the nose was, then go back to take my time going through the lockers to 'borrow' more things.
Man.

A large chisel and hammer to the top casing of the lock hard enough will break the lock free.
