I am working on a game that renders all of its type on the fly from a ttf file. So, I'm not very clear on what the license issues are when need to distribute the font itself, rather than already rasteized graphics based on it (and what the difference is, really).

Any time a font is embedded or distributed with a product, a special license is required. Contact the foundry.

ok, one more question. In case I am unable to contact the foundry (and im having problems finding any info about them), what steps can I take to try to utilize the font?

anyone have any ideas?

Who is the foundry? I can probably help you get in touch.

thanks! the font is 'Foster' and all i know about it is that in the credits of the file it says "Copyright 1994 NovelFonts! Corporation". Googling NovelFonts hasnt produced anything.. er.. productive.
